My Howdy House

Our Story

When our family was blessed with two surprise additions (Crockett and Lincoln) more than seven years behind their older siblings, we knew we needed more space at our Brenham home.

The relocated farmhouse we moved and rebuilt in 2017 just didn’t have what we wanted for new bedrooms, a playroom, an office, and all the “life happens here” space that comes with little ones. So we started exploring ADUs and backyard options.

What we found in the ADU market was disappointing. A lot of what’s out there is basically a finished-out shed—a small, pier-and-beam storage structure dressed up as living quarters. That might work for storage, but it didn’t feel right for real life.

We wanted something solid enough for conference calls without background noise, comfortable enough for family to stay long-term, and durable enough to appreciate over time—not a temporary structure that would feel worn out in a few years.

Traditional additions and remodels can be incredibly disruptive (especially with little ones living in the home), and costs have climbed fast with materials and labor. Through a lot of research, a great friendship with another family in Brenham, and God’s steady hand on the process, a better solution took shape: My Howdy House.

Because the whole idea started with family—space close to home for work, future space for adult kids, and even a place for a parent to stay nearby later in life—we’ve always called this our kids’ company. We’re building something they can grow into, run one day, and be proud of: a quality product that serves other families, too.

Our kids (oldest to youngest) are Mallie, Davis (D‑Bo), Crockett, and Lincoln. The Bo Camp House was named after Davis—because he loves hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors.

Like our structures, the business itself is multi-generational. We’re building it with long-term craftsmanship, strong values, and a commitment to our community.
